Hair: The Kink

So, my cousin sent me this video on youtube on how to do pin curls on wet hair with no heat....her name is HairCrush (View Video), by the way and she has pretty amazing hair! But anyways, I relaxed my hair yesterday and proceeded to attempt this style.

I first added a BOAT load of setting lotion to my hair and combed it through with a wide-toothed comb and added more on each section. I started in the front and separated my hair into sections the size that I wanted my curls. About an  inch. So I actually began rolling the pin curls incorrectly because I'm sure you can imagine that it's quite  difficult to roll wet hair. So instead I twisted each piece first, then rolled the hair around my fingers to create a cinnamon bun. Pull the roll off your finger and bobby pin it in place. It may slip a little with the setting lotion. So this is my whole head after I was done about an hour and half later. I wrapped a silk scarf around my edges and sat under the dryer for about 30 minutes to let it set it and then slept on it (with a scarf). At this point, I looked like Janet Jackson circa 1995 in the Runaway video.

I unravelled the pin curls after my shower because I thought it would help them relax a little. But this is the aftermath of the rolls. Little Medusa snakes. It wasn't sexy...
I decided to separate the curls because the snakes were a little scary. I applied a whole bunch of oil because it was really dry from the setting lotion. Now we have Don King...

I wasn't feeling the Don King, so I twisted the front out of my face, now for my make-up!

Faded Flowers

I created a design yesterday while visiting my mom using her polish....
Let's just say mom's polish is not good quality.
This design was created using my new polish that is NOT 6 years old lol.

Hair: Egg Mixture

Ok, so I'm about to share a slightly embarrassing photo of myself testing out an egg mixture to moisturize my hair. I recently colored my whole head and it took a toll on the health of my hair. It became very dry! So, I decided to try out this mixture that consists of:
*1 part extra virgin olive oil
*1 egg
*2 parts mayonnaise (I used Hellman's).

The traditional way to hold in the heat is a shower cap...BUT I didnt have an extra plastic cap, so I decided to use saran wrap! It made it a bit more fun. I thought I looked like an alien, so I took an alien inspired photo lol.
I left it on for about 45 mintues. You can leave it on as long as you like since it will remain moist with the plastic on it. But by any means, do NOT let it dry on your head! The egg will be a bitch to get out.
These are the after results! Beautiful shine! I wish I had a photo of the back of my head, but I had pin curled the back into 4 rolls and added a skinny black headband in the middle.
